Ways to help fight stress
Chronic stress has been linked indirectly to cancer; and it’s been shown to promote tumor growth in people diagnosed with cancer: Because it’s not always possible to avoid stress, you have to make sure your body is prepared to fend off the effects.
“Stress is something you consume. It comes into your body through what you’re drinking, eating and thinking. Lowering stress is paramount to wellness,” says Kris Carr, author of Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips.
Two keys to lowering stress:
EXERCISE. Pick exercise you actually will do- maybe starting with the gentle stuff, such as yoga or power walking.
DIET. Eat leafy greens, vegetables, nuts and grains; greatly decrease animal protien, dairy and processed foods. Anothe weapon: juicing vegetables. Drinking fresh juice puts up a bulletproof shield around you from stress. Limit your intake of acidic foods because they can lead to inflammation, which operates like an internal form of stress in the body by breaking down cells and advancing the aging process.
